NOTES for volunteers:

1. Suggested length of period: 2 weeks or above

2. Mandarin speaking is highly desirable for communication and function effectively.

3. All application will be subjected for the approval from our local counterpart Civil Affairs Bureau. Please send back the application form to us at least one month in advance.

4. Lodging: The guesthouse with basic furniture and household appliances will be provided.

5. Transportation: For volunteers, we will provide transportation upon your arrival at and departure from the project. Taxis are available for short distance shopping trip or dining. Travel to nearby areas such as Beijing and Tianjin downtown during weekends can be arranged upon request.

6. Travel insurance: Please purchase the necessary travel insurance before your departure from your home country/place of residence.

7. Vaccination: Please ensure you are vaccinated against Hepatitis A, B and tuberculosis.

8. Shopping for daily necessities: There is a supermarket next to the residential district of the project where food, groceries and personal necessities can be bought.

9. It is inappropriate to discuss matters relating to politics/religion, contact the local churches and Christians without prior approval, or distribute leaflets on religion.

Budget for staying: An average meal usually costs about RMB 10 to
RMB 25 per person.
